The Great Texas Warrant Roundup is about to begin.  Next month, law enforcement agencies throughout Texas will utilize hundreds of police officers in an effort to arrest people who have traffic ticket arrest warrants. Whether your ticket warrant is for speeding, no insurance, no drivers license, running a red light, or even expired inspection or registration, the police may be looking for you, in earnest, once the Great Texas Warrant Roundup gets underway.

Frequently, the press releases issued in regard to the roundup encourage you to run down to the courthouse and pay your ticket.  With the possible exception of getting arrested, this is the worst thing you can do!  If you pay the fine on your outstanding trafficticket warrant, the violation will become a conviction and appear on your driving record.  The Texas Department of Public Safety can impose surcharges, and your insurance premiums may rise.
